A Lovely easter

I had a lovely spring break and Easter this year. On Good Friday, I made chocolate rice crispy cakes (mini egg nests!) and watched 3 Easter movies, Hop, Winnie the pooh and the great Easter egg adventure and made some Easter crafts (egg decorating etc).

On Easter Saturday I went to Smithills open farm that I listed in for their great Easter egg hunts, tractor ride and to see the baby animals. They were selling some of their baby sheepdog puppies which were adorable. The farm was as busy as I have ever seen it before but on the Easter egg hunt I still managed to find a "special egg" these were hens eggs entitling you too get an Easter egg. I got the yolk all over my hands.

On Easter Sunday I awoke to find this waiting for me...

Then I went to Tatton Park,    for their Alice In Wonderland themed Easter activities spread around the Mansion, Gardens and farm.

Giving up chocolate for lent- Success

I knew it would be hard to give up chocolate for lent as chocolate is literally  everywhere, I sometimes go weeks without it without noticing but If you say you are giving it up it is 90% harder. I have listed some tricky bits.

temptation no1- Paul a colleague of my mum offers me a home-made cookie, I decline as it is my first chocolate free day and it turns out they are honey and raisin cookies so I GET ONE ANYWAY!

temptation no2- Rollers cafe are giving away free samples of their new chocolate cinnamon rolls no thanks :)

temptation no3- free samples of the new chocolate fingers in Morrisons ignored

temptation no4- On a trip to Slatterys chocolate shop I bought the rice pudding tart over chocolate which turned out to be an amazing choice as it is gorgeous!

temptation no5- free geobars after the sport relief mile- I took apricot not chocolate.

See!, One thing I did read was that you can indulge in your forbidden 'thing' every Sunday as it does not count. I thought this was kinda like cheating so I didn't take advantage but when I missed one of the chocolate chips when picking them out  of cookie dough ice cream I did not sorrow. I also indulged in chocolate when I was recycling last years Easter eggs into rice crispy cakes. I did not count options sachets as chocolate though as sometimes I have them with my medicine before bed.

Anyway, I am proud of myself. Off to eat choc-free hot cross buns laters' :)

Chocolate vs Cheese take 2- Choccy Philly don't be silly

A few of you may remember my sheer determination Kraft could not steal Britain's pride and joy ( vegetable oil infused chocolate, I think so) Well, it contains more cocoa than Hershey. First they closed our factory's then they removed our milky slogan. Then they did this, If you have been around for a while you will remember my sarcastic predictions for a cheese filled Cadbury chocolate bar on my on-line video campaign. I honestly did not expect them to actually make, not a bar but a tub of icky Philadelphia cheese which only has 2 good uses (cheesecake and carrot cake frosting) infused with Cadbury goodness. I am not going to sink to the level of trying this concoction but am now proposing a request for cheesecake filled Oreo's which I believe will work much better.

Also I am going to start a silent protest and not buy Kraft products. ( Within reason) please join me in my awesomeness. Here are the guide lines...
1. Do not purchase Kraft products from supermarkets eg belvita, terrys, cheese.

Oh yeah, well that's it, you can however accept gifts and free-bees eg- I can have a creme egg at the smithills Easter egg hunt as I did not purchase it they did. You can also get kraft products such as Oreo's or Milka In milkshakes or on ice cream as long as the joint do not display the product logo. Third and finally you can visit Cadbury Land as they could rip it down and build a roller coaster if it does not bring in cash.
