Oatie Maple syrup and banana flapjack recipe

The other day I fancied something sweet so I decided to make a new recipe. Creating a recipe from scratch is a fun process full of tasting which in this case was a good thing full of oat-some goodness.

150g Butter
150ml Maple syrup
Dried fruit
2 large mashed bananas
1 puréed banana
375g oats
2 teaspoons vanilla extract
Go on you know you want to...

the second batch are out :)

Melt the syrup and butter together on the stove, then add the bananas, followed by the dried fruit, then the oats, keep mixing it then put into a tray.
Bake In the oven for 10 mins until the tops turn slightly golden brown, mark slices and leave to harden before removing from tray.

The mix made several flapjacks, I cut mine into mini flapjacks for snacking but you could make bigger ones for desserts or giant ones for breakfast. The bananas make them sticky and chewy without the over sugared taste of golden syrup, the maple syrup is a whole new and delicious level of sweet.
