Meet Manchester- Part 1, Food!

Hey everyone I love my home town of Manchester loads, like I really do! There is so much to do and so much going on all the time. After the riots and everything last year Manchester got some bad press, but at the Gay Pride and Manchester Mela this weekend I felt very proud of the North West so I decided to give all you fellow bloggers an insight into my best bits of Manchester.

Best Breakfast-
Odder/ Odd/ Oddest
This is a great family friendly bar that play kids movies once a week, they are all Manchester Based and serve a mean breakfast. Choose a type of egg then add beans, a sweet potato patty, hash brown, veggie sausage, grilled tomato and mushroom plus it comes with lovely granary bread smothered in butter. Other alternatives include the meat breakfast and the vegan breakfast with tofu. I get tofu and poached egg instead of hash brown as I hate hash browns.
£6.75- vegetastic or vegantastic
£6.95- Original with bury black pudding
£3.95 for lighter option of a bagel with your choice of item.

Best Quick Lunches
Oklahoma, central to Manchester serve a yummy baked sweet potato with chick pea curry or organic beans for around a fiver, Blue Daisy Cafe in the Northern quarter do yummy home-made quiche and the best goats cheese toastie ever!, Earth Vegetarian Cafe do a great range of dishes and pies served with brown rice or potatoes and salad for £6 for 4 items, The eighth day serve the best dhal in Manchester and yummy pasties stuffed with cheese/v-mince or beans and The Aadvark Cafe do the worlds best salads which change daily but I loved the sweet chilli broccoli and 3 bean with roast butternut squash and my mum liked the creamy potato salad.

Best on the Go
Taco Bell- Food court, I know fast food is sold everywhere but these gems are rare in the UK so stop by, a bean burrito is only £1 and v-tasty, don't forget churros and chocolate for pudding.
Arndale food Market- So Many different types of food, from pancakes the chinese, to greek to pizza not to forget curry, pasta and paninis. Also stop by at Nutz Uk for the yogurt coated freeze dried fruit and turkish delight. Also In Manchester are 2 Wasabi sushi outlets with £1 sushi at lunch!

Best Buffet
Manchester is home to a red hot world buffet and yes its as good as it sounds...
http://www.redhot-worldbuffet.com/
also stop at china town for a wide variety of Chinese buffets!

Best to dine out
For yummy pizza visit the fancy Dough where there are literally dozens of Pizza's to choose from including veggie and gluten free variety's.
We also have lots of chains in Manchester including, Zizzi, Tampopo, Las Iguanas and Gourmet Burger Kitchen.

Best for a sweet treat!
You didn't think I missed dessert did you, In the Arndale visit shakeaway for a delicious caramel shortcake milkshake (or one of the other wide choices) Or head to Whitworth St, or Spinningfields for a fro-yo at Frurt where they offer a wide selection of dairy and soy frozen yogurts as well as smoothies, iced coffee and gluten free brownies! Also In Spinningfields there is a sweet cupcake stall worth a visit. Slatterys near me is also best for dessert but not central Manchester so If you are only visiting central Manchester give Patisserie Valerie a go instead.

Enjoy eating your way round Manchester, over the next month I will also post my favourite attractions, shops and more!
